Athens and Thessaloniki citizens are in despair and are facing one more night with rioting and destruction without seeing any action from the government to try and stop the anarchists. Groups of well armed anarchists destroy and rob stores, offices, and bank branches for a fourth consecutive night. Tomorrow morning the Greek capitol will wake up with burnt buildings one more time. The police are invisible; it does not exist because it does not protect the properties of citizens who are in a dead-lock situation.

At the same time, the police used shots in order to spread the demonstration at a moment when parents, relatives and friends were burring 16 year old Alexandros Grigoropoulos. Special force “Z” policeman shot three times in the air in a crowded neighborhood in order to frighten the youth procession. There were no victims this time. In many places around Athens, police were using tear and poisonous gas to fight the riots, sometimes it was justified and others not. Conflicts between the police and demonstrators exploded also in Thessaloniki, Patras, Mililini, and Korint.

The parents of the murdered boy asked for understanding and did not want photo and video cameras present at the funeral. Also they did not want any political parties or representative of the government to be at the cemetery. Thousands of people came for the funeral rites and many were left outside of the cemetery walls.

Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis made a special statement for the Greek people and urged them for self-control, calmness, and to distinguish themselves from the violence on the streets. Many political observers are blaming the Greek Prime Minister that he does not have a solution to the situation.
