Finally the official results from the ballistic expertise came out, according to which the bullet that took the life of the 16 year old Alexandros Grigoropoulos was deformed and most likely ricocheted from a hard object before piercing the heart of the boy. This way the statement of the accused policeman, which said that he shot in the air and not straight in the boy is confirmed. In order for the ricochet scenario to be officially confirmed the scene of the accident must be further investigated and the fatal event enacted. This way the surface where the bullet ricocheted will be found.
The results of the ballistic expertise were given to the chief investigator yesterday and they show: “The way the bullet is deformed, its place, and its untouched nose are all things, which are thoroughly inspected every time a bullet hits a hard surface sideways and as a result ricochets.” The document also includes that the chemical expertise shows that on the surface of the bullet pyritic dioxide was found, and the pyrite is a material frequently used for construction building.
Yesterday the investigator called in the both lawyers - of the family of the deceased boy and of the policemen in order to let them know about the official results from the ballistic expertise. The lawyers of Alexandros Grigoropoulos’ family asked for another inspection of the crime scene and an enacting of the events from the fatal night. Their wish was accepted by the investigator.
