From today, Friday December 26th, the weather will change for the worse with rain in the plains and snow in the mountains forecasts the Greek meteorological service. Civil security warns us to be careful when on the road in the next few days because nature phenomena are expected. They advise us to always carry chains in our trunks and when needed to put them on. The temperature will be between -2⁰C and 6⁰C in Northern Greece, between 0⁰C and 9⁰C in Central and South Greece and between 1⁰C and 13⁰C in Western Greece.

There will be strong North-Western winds in the Aegean Sea, and strong East and Southeast winds in the Ionian Sea. The bad weather will take over the whole country starting Saturday and Sunday. There will be plenty of rain and snowfall and in some places, especially at sea, there will be strong storms and very low temperatures. There will be snowfall in many places in northern Greece and in Thessaloniki. The stormy winds in the Ionian Sea can reach 10 Beauforts and will stay until Sunday night. The storms will quiet down from Monday and mostly on Tuesday. We will greet the New Year with good weather.
