The Greek police concluded that the shooting at the 21 year old policeman in front of the Ministry of culture yesterday was done by a terrorist organization. 27 Kalashnikov fired-cartridges were found on the crime scene. Later on it became clear that the same Kalashnikov was used in the police bus shooting on December 23rd. Again, on the crime scene were found four fired-cartridges from a 9 millimeter gun, which was used in the attack against the police station in Nea Ionia during April of 2007. Back then, the responsibility of the attack was taken by the “Revolutionary Fight” organization - the same one, which during January of 2007 fired at the US embassy in Athens with a hand grenade.
The police have searched over 15 houses in the Ekzarhia neighborhood, Ghazi, Aghia Paraskevi, and Halandri, from where they confiscated few computers, which will be examined for suspicious data. Five people have been arrested for possession of suspicious objects, which do not have anything to do with the shooting at the policeman. “The Greek society is paying a very high price to the local terrorism,” said today the Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyanni.
