Yesterday the border station with Macedonia near Evzoni, where only cars and busses can pass closed. Many trucks are parked close to the border station Kulata-Promahon, which can close at any moment. This time the reason is the strike of the truck driver’s, who are servicing the international transportation. The traffic through all the rest border stations is normal.

The owners of the heavyweight trucks insist for a stricter control against illegal trucks, which are entering Greece from neighboring countries and full mobilization of the governmental mechanism, which must deal with this criminal phenomenon. They are asking for protection of the professional drivers from the illegal emigrants, who arrive at the Patra and Igoumenitza ports with the goal to leave for Italy.

Since yesterday, the truck drivers blocked the whole trade transportation through the port in Patra. Their foreign colleagues, who were getting off the ferries with loads, were left surprised that they are blocked at the port. Conflicts weren’t missing as well and the police had to interfere.
