Less and less measures will be applied against smoking from July 1st. The announced before rules about night clubs will be limited and the Health Ministry changed its previous position about a complete smoking ban in public places and private restaurants.

At first it was discussed that restaurants bigger than 300 sq. m. will be divided into two and the smoking area will be separated with a glass reaching the ceiling. Now, the rules are changing and this glass will be hardly two meters high.

Businessmen are continuing to repine, because all the changes they need to make will cost them a fortune and the outlook of their restaurants will be different.

Satisfied will be employees in firms with a staff of more than 50 people, because according to the new law, the owners of the firm will have to plan a separate smoker’s zone.

Underage children will not be allowed to be present in places where people are smoking, independently of whether they are accompanied by an elder. The application of the new measures will be checked by all authorities – the police, the health services and the port authorities.
