On Saturday, at 6.30 p.m., upon entering the port of Kos, there was an explosion on the tourist ship "Eve", which killed the ship's Captain. The ship was carrying 28 passengers. A Dutchman (52 years old), a Dutchwoman (47 years), a Belgian (30 years), two children from Germany (7 and 9 years) and a Greek, who was boarding the ship, were injured.

According to the information the explosion broke out when the embarking passengers began throwing fireworks from a "cannon" as part of a festive event: the possibility of a terrorist attack was ruled out from the very beginning.

According to sources, the captain's death was instantaneous and the ship was steered into the harbour by a member of the crew. Port authorities and police are continuing the investigation to establish the cause of the incident.
