After an order of the District Attorney of Ioannina, the Greek police disseminated data of the paediatrician paedophile who was arrested in his medical office in the city of Ioannina and before the eyes of his patients a few days ago. This is 47-year-old Bulgarian Svetozar Zachariev against whom criminal prosecution, for the possession and distribution of pornographic materials on the Internet, as well as for making videos of minors, has been initiated.

This is the first case of detention of a paediatrician for pornography in Greece. Director of the anti-electronic crimes services Manolis Sfakianakis admitted that the police were amazed by the extremely shocking pornographic materials which were found in Svetozar Zachariev’s archive. It is not yet clear whether the perverted doctor had only made videos of his young patients. The police are trying to prove that he had not tried to seduce children during their examinations.

The police have disseminated the phone number 11012, as well as e-mails 11012@hellenicpolice.gr and ccu@cybercrimeunit.gov.gr as open lines of communication. Anyone who can contribute to revealing the truth is invited to contact the authorities, and their anonymity is guaranteed. All parents or guardians of Svetozar Zachariev’s patients can also establish contact with experts for help and advice.
