The arrival, some of the actions and the two shots fired by the perpetrators of the bloody attack in Neo Iraklio outside the offices of Golden Dawn have been recorded in a video which the anti-terrorism service has made public.

The 48-second-long video  recorded by the security camera on the balcony of the office of the local organisation shows, in the 3rd second, the two perpetrators arriving on a motorcycle and leaving it about 20 metres away from the offices of Golden Dawn.

Then, it is considered that, within 20 seconds, the perpetrator wearing a white jockey cap shot indiscriminately, killing the two members of Golden Dawn. The actions of the perpetrator cannot be seen due to the white roof of the building at the bottom of the video.

The 31st second shows the motorist with the black helmet approaching his accomplice, who is already killing the members of Golden Dawn.

The 33rd second shows the perpetrator with the white jockey cap shooting (in the lower left side of the video). Then, the 40th second shows them going back to the motorcycle.

At the end of the video, a motorcyclist makes a turn and returns to Iraklio street; probably he is the young man who had pursued the two offenders when they had left the scene.

Checking the alibis of suspects

The alibis of suspects at the time of the murder, the phone calls in the area of Neo Iraklio at the same time, the "lost motorcycles" of the Sect of Revolutionaries are among the five new details which the Greek police officers are currently investigating to unravel the murder of the two young members of Golden Dawn.

The police also expect someone to assume responsibility for the attack. As mentioned "if our assumption that the attack was the work of former members of the terrorist group Sect of Revolutionaries, which used to send its proclamations 7-8 days after the attacks, is confirmed, then it is just a matter of hours before we find out what really happened in Neo Iraklio and continue the investigation."

So, the new information, which the police are checking, is as follows:

Firstly: They should establish the whereabouts, at the time of the attack, of the persons suspected of involvement in armed groups, who have already attracted the attention of the anti-terrorism service and other law enforcement agencies.

Secondly: A printout of calls made from mobile phones in the area of the murder, during the attack, and half an hour before and after it, has already been requested. The time of the crime, when tens of thousands of phone calls were made, and the fact that the terrorists avoid using mobile phones are hampering this step of the investigation. However, the ability of the police to make analyses on the basis of the data obtained from the antennas covering the route along which the perpetrators had withdrawn may add new information to the case.

Thirdly: One of the details investigated by the police is the use of a stolen motorcycle that had disappeared from the district of Kallithea at the end of June 2013. The owner of the motorcycle was called on Monday to testify before the anti-terrorism service. Greek police officials stress that, although the Sect of Revolutionaries had used motorcycles during the attacks against the police station in Korydallos, against the offices of Alter and during the murder of Nektarios Savas in 2009, the motorcycles have never been found in order to make clear how they had been stolen or who were their owners. It is only known that, during the attack against journalist Sokratis Giolias, the perpetrators used a car, which had been stolen from Alimos three days earlier, and they burnt it afterwards.

Fourthly: With regard to the weapon used in the double murder in Neo Iraklio the police report, "the same type of weapon, namely a Zastava, was found in the arsenal of the Sect of Revolutionaries in the summer of 2010. However, before making any hasty conclusions, we must recall that two similar 9 mm Zastava pistols, with cartridges but without bullets, were found in Nea Philadelphia, in the car of a person suspected of involvement in the Revolutionary Struggle group."

Fifthly: The Greek police are again investigating the two proclamations sent by the Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei and FAI in connection with two attacks, in 2010 and 2012, against the offices of Golden Dawn in Omonia Square and in Aspropyrgos. The reason for this is that, since the beginning of summer 2013, these two groups seem to have been cooperating with the Sect of Revolutionaries in order for them to revive the terrorist activities within the context of "Operation Phoenix".

During the attack carried out by the Fire Nuclei group in March 2010, the following was stated regarding the members of Golden Dawn: "Nikolaos Michaloliakos’ army is nothing more than a bunch of cowardly, brainless fools since they so easily assume the role of sheep in Golden Dawn." The text connected with the attack by FAI reads, "you should first hit the fascists, before they hit you" and "the point is not to outlaw Golden Dawn but to put it out of life."

The police do not exclude the possibility of a new terrorist group being involved in the case, rather than the Sect of Revolutionaries which has already been included in "Operation Phoenix", as, in this case, all persons involved in, or already accused of, attacks carried out by Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei will be charged with the double murder in Neo Iraklio.
