Directions for the assembly of explosive devices that are activated by a mobile phone, 10 fake ID cards, SIM cards, a hard drive, five USB devices, live ammunition and chemicals for the cleaning of weapons are just some of the objects seized from the latest hiding place of terrorists, which the police have found in Athens. The flat is located in the neighbourhood of Tourkovounio in Athens and had been rented by Dimitris Politis, who was arrested along with three of his accomplices for the robbery of a bank in the village of Velvendo.
In connection with the same robbery, the police have issued arrest warrants for another woman and for Fivos Harisis – Poulous, aged 23. George Poulous, the father of the wanted, is a union activist from SYRIZA. He was a vice-chairman of the union of local government organizations POE-OTA and today, he is part of the leadership of the public workers trade union ADEDY as reported by To Vima. The mother of the 23-year-old man is Urania Poulou, who is also a member of SYRIZA. She was a candidate for municipal councillor for the Peania area and today, she is an employee in the office of the party in the National Assembly.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Anargiros Dalios, the son of a retired colonel from Fthiotida. According to Ethnos newspaper, the last known address of Dalios is in the neighbourhood of Zoografo in Athens, near the campus. He studied chemistry at the Athens Polytechnic School and according to the data published in the media, he was an excellent student until 2010. Then, his fellow students lost contact with him. The two young men are accused of involvement in a terrorist organization and their names are associated with the robbery of a branch of the Agricultural Bank (ATEbank) in the village of Filotas, Florina on 28 November 2012. The sum of 110 thousand euro was stolen then and according to police, this was used to fund terrorist activities.
A few hours after the robbery, the police stopped Dalios and Poulous for a routine check. After having resisted, they were arrested and later released. Incriminating evidence against them has been collected and they are now wanted by the law.
The police found the last hiding place after they published in the public domain the photos of the youths wanted for terrorism. They received an anonymous call that gave them the address. Dalios and Poulous have been already connected with Dimitris Politis and 25-year-old Ioannis Michailidis known as the "shooter on Syntagma", who were detained for terrorist activities in the "Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei" group.
All the persons detained so far and the wanted ones are believed to have been hiding behind the terrorist acts carried out over the past three years. Although they deny it, it is believed that they are part of a wider circle of "Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei", but used different names to divert the police investigation. They used names like "Fire Shadows," "Fighting Minorities" and "Fire on the Horizon" to create the impression to the authorities that there are many terrorist organizations in Greece.
Handwritten directions for making a bomb controlled by a remote device that carry the abbreviation of "Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei" were found in the hiding place in Tourkovounio as reported by Mega TV. A similar bomb had been most recently used in an act of terrorism in the city of Larissa by the organization "People's Will" in 2004. However, the signals were distorted then and the mobile phone of an unsuspecting citizen activated the explosive device by mistake. After this accident, Greek terrorists used such a device only once in 2010, when there was an explosion in front of the political office of former Minister of Civil Protection Michalis Chrysohoidis.
