The second consecutive demonstration of pro-European Greeks who are opposed to the probability of the government's actions taking Greece out of the euro zone started with provocations and tension.
A group of about 100 anarchists gathered on the sidewalk in front of the Greek parliament building in an attempt to prevent the implementation of the protest of the civil initiative "We Stay in Europe" that has been announced since last Friday.
The anarchists raised a banner with the slogan "No to an agreement-obedience. No to a new memorandum. Class counterattack against local and international capital" and shouted similar slogans to which the participants in the pro-European demonstration responded with their whistles and the slogan "Greece, Europe, Democracy."
The tense situation lasted about 30 minutes and ended with the intervention of the riot police forces. The anarchists gradually withdrew to Panepistimiou street and the participants in the pro-European protest began to fill the square in front of the parliament building.
