The Greek police made a successful hit against the new terrorist generation in the country. The results from the lab tests came out late last night, which proved what experts claimed earlier. The bombs found in the apartment of the former deputy minister of public order Panagiotis Xinofotis on July 12, in the Ministry of Thrace and Macedonia on September 2, and in the apartment of Louka Katzeli on September 23, are identical with the handmade devices found in the hideaway apartment in Halandri.
Responsibility of the attack against Panagiotis Xinofotis was assumed by the organization “Conspiracy of the fiery nuclei” – fraction of the nihilists. This is why anti-terrorist experts believe that the group arrested in the apartment belongs to this organization. The gathered genetic material gave enough evidence, with which the four arrested can be taken to court for terrorist activities. The people arrested yesterday are the 21 year old tenant of the apartment, the 20 year old son of the owner of the apartment and his also 20 year old girlfriend, and another boy, who is 21 years old. Police announced that the arrested are refusing any cooperation with the authorities; they are behaving arrogantly and provocatively.
Today all five arrested appeared in front of the prosecutor Eleni Raykou and asked for 4 days grace period for their testimonies. They will answer her questions on Tuesday September 29. The prosecutor has filed an accusation against them for participating in a criminal organization, possession of explosives, threatening human lives and possession of drugs. Eleni Raykou also issued an order to announce the names of the arrested publicly – Haralambos Hadzimihalis, Emanuil Yospa, Mirto Pandeloglou and Panagiotis Masouras, all of them between 20 and 21 years old.
As we informed you yesterday, found in the hideaway of the terrorist was a ready handmade device, placed in a stew pan and connected to a clock mechanism and a detonator. Other things found in the apartment were many stew pans, big quantity of explosives and detonators. In another apartment in Athens, found was a Brelock pistol, many bullets and €3800. Prosecutor Eleni Raykou issued an order for the arrest of another 6 suspected terrorists – five Greeks and one Albanian.
Last night about 500 anarchists gathered in Exarhia neighborhood, in order to demonstrate against “police violence and uniforms”. They threw stones at the police building in Exarhia and set trash cans on fire. In order to push them away the police used tear gas.
