Greek ship "Magda P" the captain of which had alerted about a sailor with symptoms of Ebola onboard arrived in Piraeus port after 07:00 pm on Monday. A crew member from the Philippines had had a high temperature, haemorrhage and pains in the waist.
An official communication of the Ministry of Merchant Marine reports that a specially trained group of the centre for epidemics and infectious diseases control was onboard the ship as well as representatives of the sanitary authorities of Piraeus municipality. The group of physicians and medical staff examined the patient, whose temperature began to drop.
The subsequent official announcement of the centre informs that the sailor is not infected with the Ebola virus. So far there has been no official message on the condition of the sailor.
Greek ship "Magda P" was transporting bauxite from Guinea to Ukraine. It has 24 crew members onboard, including 10 Greeks and 14 foreigners.
