The newly elected Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will undergo a surgery by ophthalmologist Professor Panos Teodosiadis at Attica State Hospital tomorrow morning. He underwent a scheduled eye examination today, which has established a retinal detachment. The cause for the detachment is nervous exhaustion and stress.
The meeting of the parliamentary group of New Democracy scheduled for today at 6 pm is therefore cancelled. According to his associates, Antonis Samaras will return to the Megaro Maximou (Maximos Mansion) where the office of the Greek Prime Minister is located, today, in the afternoon, after the completion of the tests necessary for the operation tomorrow.
