The Greek coast guard detained a ship with 94 illegal immigrants in the bay of Pylos in the Peloponnese. On Christmas Eve, the ship had been in the region of the isthmus of Messinia and sent an SOS signal. The coast guard had approached the vessel in distress with a fishing boat and had successfully taken it over to the nearest port. The illegal immigrants are now housed in the municipal indoor stadium.

    There are two pregnant women and an elderly lady among the immigrants, who are now in the local hospital for a medical check-up. The police detained the three traffickers as well. According to the local online edition elefteriaonline.gr all immigrants are in good health.
