About 3 am, two men on a motorcycle approached the building and opened fire; there is no evidence of casualties, but according to NET public television, a bullet was found in the office of Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Nine fired cartridges from the bullets were found around the building on Andreas Sigrou Avenue. The police closed off the area and the anti-terrorism services have undertaken to investigate the case.
According to other sources, however, the number of attackers was three and they came by a dark- coloured sedan. One of them shot at the entrance of the building and the windows on the second floor, which houses the office of the head of the party and Prime Minister of Greece, Antonis Samaras. The other two gathered the fired cartridges. One of the bullets broke the window of the Prime Minister’s office, hit the ceiling, ricocheted into a wall and fell to the floor. Eight more cartridges were found at the scene in addition to it. All evidence, including the records of security cameras have been carried to the specialised laboratories of the Greek police for further investigations.
On Sunday morning, unknown offenders set fire to a car in front of the house of government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou’s brother. "The difference between the explosive speech and the explosive attacks is small. There is no good violence and bad violence," Simos Kedikoglou told Sky TV. He stressed the government's determination to fully neutralize the tension that the paramilitary structures in Greece are creating and directly accused SYRIZA of creating an atmosphere of political intolerance. The government spokesman said that he was receiving personal phone calls with threats to his life. Last week, the Greek police cleared two important hiding places of anarchists in central Athens known as Villa Amalia and Villa Callas.
