The decision to rebuild or repair the burnt houses at the expense of the government was signed yesterday. The program includes the construction of about 100 buildings, out of which 70 are houses and the repair of another 200, out of which 160 are houses. The budget of the program is €10 million and it will be financed by the Public Investments Program.
The owners will do the repairs themselves and receive the money from the state afterwards. The decision of the government set a deadline of one year in which people will have to apply for evaluation of the burnt building, so that they can receive free state help.
All people living in the burnt regions are eligible for help, except for the ones whose houses are built illegally, in the forest area or are not inhabited. €750 per square meter is the amount set for the house repair for a burnt area or for a total area of up to 120 sq. m.
The decision also clarifies that two member families, living in houses smaller than 65sq.m. will receive help equal to 65sq.m. house. For three member family and a destroyed house of less than 80sq.m. – the state will finance a repair equal to a 80sq.m. house and respectively for a four member family living in a house up to 95sq.m., the state will finance it as the value of a 95sq.m. house.
The financing will be given in three deposits. Also, when the building needs to be completely rebuilt, 50% of the engineer fee will be paid by the state and when only a repair needs to be done, then 50% of the engineers’ fee will be lowered. The people, who have lost their houses 100% will receive a onetime financial help of €10 000, in order to buy white goods.
The applications for the subsidies need to be filed within two months after the decision is officially enacted and they should also include a declaration that the burnt houses were legally built and that their owners were living in them. The documents need to include a report, which says that the house is completely burnt or a description of the damages.
