Strong thunderstorms will form over the Ionian Islands and the region of Epirus throughout the night, reports the Greek Meteorological Services. During the night the bad weather will also reach the Western part of Greece and Peloponnese.

According to the meteorologists the winds will reach 75km/h. On Wednesday the storms will move to Western Greece and the regions Attica, Euboea, the Cycladic Islands, Crete and the islands in the North and East Aegean Sea – the Dodecanese, central and eastern Macedonia and probably will reach the Eastern part of Peloponnese, Ftiotida, Beotia, Eastern Tessalia, Western Macedonia and Thrace.

On Thursday it is expected that the rains will slow down and will be limited to the southeastern part of Greece. The civil services have been alarmed and are ready for quick action if necessary. They also warn citizens that the storms might cause traffic problems due to fallen trees on the roads.
