Summer Christmas in Greece

During the holidays Greece is going through a small summer. The warm weather will continue throughout the weekend and will change not before next week.

In Attica, the weather will generally be cloudless and partly cloudy in the northern part of the region, with variable winds that will become northerly of 4-5 Beaufort and 6 Beaufort in the east at night. Temperatures will be in the range 5-17°C.

In Thessaloniki, the weather will be cloudless too, with northwestern winds of 3-4 Beaufort. They will gradually become stronger, reaching 6 Beaufort. Temperatures will be in the range 3-15 °C.

On the Cycladic Islands and Crete, the weather will be cloudless but partly cloudy in places in the afternoon, with west to northwest winds of 3-5 on the Beaufort scale. In the afternoon, they will become northerly of 5-6 Beaufort and temperatures will be in the range 10-18°C

On the eastern Aegean Islands and the Dodecanese Islands, the weather will be cloudless to partly cloudy in the north part of the region. Northwest winds of 4-6 Beaufort will blow in the south in the afternoon and north-northeast of 3-4 Beaufort in the north in the morning and 4-6 Beaufort in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the range 11-18°C and 4-6°C lower in the north.

Saturday, 26 December and Sunday, 27 December

It will become more cloudy in places in eastern and southern Greece, with a probability of light rain and cloudless in other regions. North and northwest winds of 3-5 Beaufort will blow in the west, north of 3-5 Beaufort in the east, reaching 6-7 Beaufort in places in the Aegean. On Saturday, temperatures across the country will slightly drop. In parts of Epirus, there will be frosts at night and early in the morning.

Monday, 28 December and Tuesday, 29 December

The weather will be cloudless to slightly cloudy in the west and south, with north winds of 3-4 Beaufort and 5-6 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea, gradually becoming stronger after noon on Tuesday. Temperatures will rise slightly on Monday. In places, there will be frosts.

Next week the weather will change sharply. According to forecasts, a wave of bad weather with heavy rains, cold and snow in some places will hit the Balkans and the Mediterranean, including Greece.
