After a shooting with the police a supermarket thief died and his accomplice is injured and surrounded by the police in an abandoned building near Karaiskaki stadium in Neo Faliro. The police are following the track of another two supermarket thieves, who managed to get away after a failed robbery attempt in the Megalo Pevko region.

The first incident happened at exactly 06:50AM this morning. The police have been keeping an eye on a stolen motorcycle for a long time, which two supermarket thieves have been using for their "activity" during the past few weeks in Athens. This morning two men appeared near the motorcycle and when they found out it was a trap, they opened fire at the police. The police answered to the shots and one of the criminals was seriously injured. He was taken to Dzanio hospital, where later on he died. The man was Albanian.

His accomplice was hit by at least three bullets and right now he has barricaded himself in an abandoned building near to Karaiskaki stadium. The building is surrounded by police, who are trying to capture the man.

At 07:30AM this morning another two supermarket thieves tried to rob a store on the old Ahens-Korinthos road in the Megalo Pevko region. They carried guns and hoods and managed to take over the store without a problem. The cash registry got stuck and the robbers needed a little more time to open it, when a police car drove by, understood what was going on and entered the store. The robbers managed to run away. One of them stopped a driving by car and asked the driver to drop him off at the nearest metro station. The police was left with the motorcycle, which the robbers were supposed to use to get away. Right now the police is looking for both criminals.
