The ruling coalition of the radical left SYRIZA is increasing its lead over the opposition New Democracy, as shown by e poll that Palmos Analysis agency conducted in the period 5-6 May. If the elections were today, 36% of Greeks would vote again for the left party whereas only 16.5% would vote for the conservatives.
70% of respondents state they prefer the government not to yield to the demands of creditors to eliminate the collective labour agreements in the public sector whereas 77% are against the reforms of the pension and social security system.
The majority of Greeks believe that ultimately there will be an agreement with the creditors. Only 52% of respondents, however, support Greece’s remaining in the euro zone and 44% want Greece to leave the Memorandum of financial stability.
