A warning of contamination of Coca-Cola and Nestle products with hydrochloric acid is the content of a statement entitled "Green Nemesis" by the Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front FAI/IRF, cores Nicholas and Alfredo.
Coca-Cola reacted immediately after the police confirmed earlier today that the product sent along with the letter to the news website zougla.gr contained a certain amount of hydrochloric acid. The organisation warns that about 100 plastic bottles of Coca-Cola distributed in Thessaloniki and Athens contain acid. The company, according to its statement, will proceed to a preventive withdrawal of all plastic 500 ml bottles of Coca-Cola light and Nestea (all flavours).
According to the statement, "from the first minute, the company has closely cooperated with the competent authorities to resolve the case. With a sense of responsibility and in order to protect our customers, we are proceeding to a preventive withdrawal of all 500ml individual plastic packaging, PET, of Coca-Cola light and Nestea (all flavours)."
The company informs its customers that they can call 80011-2222 (for free) for more information and that, in order to ensure consumer safety, it will proceed to all necessary actions, informing its customers in due time.
The warning
The organisation Informal Anarchist Federation/International Revolutionary Front, cores Nicholas and Alfredo warns in a statement that it has contaminated the products with hydrochloric acid as a sign of solidarity with two of its members, who are imprisoned in Spain for placing explosive devices. Its actions are dedicated to all cores of the organisation worldwide.
In parallel, along with the contaminated bottle, the website zougla.gr received on Monday a white envelope, containing a flash drive with a video of the warning. The six-page warning notice says, among other things, "Within four days after sending the envelopes we will begin to put hydrochloric acid. Our actions will continue for exactly 10 days. Choosing the holiday period is not accidental. During these days, the profits of multinational companies multiply. Therefore, within these 10 days, we will put acid in 63 plastic bottles of Coca Cola light, 500ml, and in 42 bottles of NESTEA, 500ml, all flavours. Our actions will take place in the areas of Athens and Thessaloniki. The bottles will be placed in all types of shops that sell the specific products. All these bottles will contain about 100ml of hydrochloric acid solution. We have preferred hydrochloric acid because we are sure that it does not affect the colour of COCA COLA and NESTEA, unlike other detergents such as bleach, etc."
The statement emphasizes, "Our goal is the complete withdrawal of the products of these companies for the period of our actions. We urge everyone to completely avoid buying these products, so as not to pose a risk to their health. Our goal is economic sabotage rather than the poisoning of unsuspecting people."
According to the statement, the organisation has considered the possibility of placing explosive devices in the warehouses where these products are stored but this will not yield the desired result; so, they have decided to resort to actions that have never been implemented in Greece before. It also notes that the organisation will use all types and techniques of sabotage in the fight for the liberation of all. So, it has turned to this specific sabotage as it will result in a boycott of the particular products by consumers.
According to the authors of the warning, their goal is not to harm the consumers of these mass products, which is why they have sent the statement in advance. They also state that they have sent separate envelopes to zougla.gr and Espresso newspaper in order for them to immediately publish the video and the text of the warning without censorship. If they do not do so, innocent people, who are advertisers and sponsors of the multinational giants, may die, falling prey to the satisfaction of their interests. The video shows the process of sabotaging the products and the sending of the bottle as confirmation.
On Monday night, the content of the envelope was handed over to the anti-terrorist services for investigation.
The police confirm the presence of hydrochloric acid
The police state that, after the preliminary investigation of the two bottles of liquid sent to the website and the newspaper, the anti-terrorism office has examined the contents of the flash drives.
