In his address to the Greek nation, which he made an hour and a half later than previously announced, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has hardened his position towards creditors and blamed them for the closure of banks and the introduction of capital controls. In addition, he has assured Greeks that their salaries and bank deposits are guaranteed, promising that the "inconvenience" as he defined the huge queues at ATMs will continue only for a short while.
Not commenting on his proposal to creditors today, in which he fully accepts their agreement proposals, Alexis Tsipras has urged voters to vote "no" in the referendum on Sunday, pointing out that his government continues to be at the negotiating table and that the negative vote in the referendum will not mean rupturing with Europe and exiting the euro zone.
