Last night the police found an apartment-hideaway in the Athens neighborhood Kipseli and weapons in a car in Nea FiladelFia district. There is no official police confirmation, but there is no rebuttal of the news as well that the weapon that might have been found is already in the laboratories for ballistic expertise. It is expected the results to show if this is the weapon of the terrorist organization "Revolutionary Fight” or if the police police hit an armory of "ordinary "criminals.
The police action lasted for many hours, and the findings are of great importance. Policemen were showing pictures of the six men arrested with charges of terrorism and were going from door to door in neighborhoods Nea Filadelfia, Nea Ionia and Perisos to gather information.
According to the police in those neighborhoods there are many empty apartments and rooms where the weapons could be hidden. Also in their oppinion most of the weapon was stored in one place and for unknown reasons police believes that it has not been moved after the six accused terrorists have been detained.
In Nea Filadelfia district the policemen discovered a car which was used by one of the six arrested. In the car there were hard drives for computers and CD-s, in which are stored all the declarations that the members of the terrorist oorganization "Revolutionary Struggle" have sent to the media as well as some "drafts". In the car there was also weapon found which was sent for expertise.
Anti-terrorist office is already aware of how the accused terrorists have acquired the Kalashnikov machineguns, the bombs and the RPG. The main suspect is a foreigner who comes from a Balkan country, but for many years has been living in Greece.
Yesterday, in a unanimous decision of the investigator and the prosecutor were sent in jail three of the six accused of involvement in "Revolutionary Fight". This is the 39-years-old Nikos Maziotis considered to be the leader of the organization, his 41-years-old wife Rupa Panayot and Sarandos Nikitopulos. Three others are expected to testify today.
Three youngsters and the 52-years-old mother of one of them are sent to face the investigator, as they are accused of involvement in another terrorist organization operating on the territory of Greece "Conspiracy of fiery nuclei”. All three arrested are fans of AEK football team, they have been involved in clashes during games, but parallel to this, they participate in non parliamentary fractions.
Police found they posses bombs like those Greeks throw during the Easter holidays. The same explosive material, from which the bombs which were discovered are made of, has been used for the bombs placed in front of the home of former education minister Marietta Yanaku, against parliament member from PASOK Mimis Andrulakis and during the election campaign of Costas Karamanlis near the rostrum, where he would have given a speech on Gilford Street.
