The summer except for vacation time is also time for... love. For relationships or flirts, however people understand it. In Greece the "flirts season" lasts long. And the summer here lasts almost forever ... And the glory of Greek men as good lovers has reached almost all corners of the world. Many are those who live with the memories of the 70s when on the Greek islands were coming bathed in light ships with tourists from all around the world. A true paradise on earth for the people thirsty for love adventures... And the Greeks themselves? They meet the tourists with a sparkle in the eye with and tanned, shapely bodies, dark eyes and bold, almost aggressive way of flirting. Southern temperament and warm nights, which each northern woman dreams of. 

The glory of Greek men started from the islands and the summer loves and its echoes was far heard. And with good reason. The typical Greek lover has melted the ice of many women's hearts. 

Recent researches, however, turned upside down the idea of the Greek lover emerging for years. The tragic results show that not a trace has remained of the glorious past of Greek men. At present they, followed by the Russians belong to some of the worst and "insipid" lovers of the world. The most preferred once on the other hand are the Spanish, Italians and French. And the Brazilians literally do "put glasses" to all. 

When asked what is actually happening with the Greek men the sexologists have one answer. It can "land" everyone. And that is, that the Greeks have never belonged to the category of the best lovers and their glory was created artificially by ... (hold on tight!) travel agencies in order to attract female tourists. A good way if you think about it. 

What happens then with the myths that Greek men are over sexual? They also burst like a balloon ... the sexologists think that actually are no measure with which we could measure sexuality. In its final form it is a matter of enlightenment and education. Often it involves also our notions of aesthetics. And another thing - as a whole the Greek is immature and is not liberated because he fails to comply with rules in his intimate life. 

Some see in the economic crisis a chance for the emotional and extroverted Greek men to give up the evenings spent away from home and to concentrate more on their wives. This news surely would make the Greek women happy, however will this really be the effect of the economic crisis? Because on the other hand psychologists and sociologists argue that men are too depressed and communication between couples is about to perish... 

The light in the tunnel are the young people, who, according to the scientists, have not yet lost the magic of love. Moreover, they are desperately looking for it. 

About what it means to have a relationship today we spoke to Anna, 21 years old student of Informatics in Athens. The girl believes that today it is easy to have a relationship, even for a longer period of time. As a long period of time she defines a period of 6 months. Her friend Christos is 26 years old and is takeing a Masters in Informatics. Christos says that things are not tragic, however it is not very easy to have a long term relationship. "Would you like me to tell you why?" - Asks the boy with enthusiasm. "Because it is difficult for young people to be independent by the age of 30. They don’t have the financial opportunity to do so" explains the young boy. Anna did not wait long to reply that in a relationship the financial status does not play a key role... "Later, the responsibilities increase and things change", opposes Christos. When I ask him what he likes in the Greek women he answers to me in an interesting way: "What I like is what I do not like. The passion. This is a mixed blessing. It is very nice when the woman is passionate, but the passion in times of disagreement and disputes between the two ceases to be a passion and became hysterical". Anna agrees and adds: "The Greek women are very temperamental". "This is nice" - interfere with a slight smile Christos. 

It came the time to ask Anna as well what she likes in the Greek men: "I do not think they have some special feature that is lacking the men of other nationalities ... But I think they are much warmer than others. I could say they show a lot more their feelings. It is the same in the relationships". What she doesn’t like? "That they are glued to their mothers. To an extent to which their relationship is no longer healthy. When a man is over 25 - years old and still has very close relationship with his mother it is not good for his girlfriend. This is when the antagonism is born" – thinks the girl. "Men generally say they are not dependent on their mothers, but in fact they are. In the younger generation this is changing to some extent, but the cases of unhealthy dependence are still many". Christos fully agrees with what his friend says.
