Will the host of Elatte have a reason to smile?

Budgets cuts, layoffs, salaries reductions of TV hosts and journalists is the reality television networks in Greece face at the moment. The situation is really critical and the only way out seems to be the easy solution, which actually means dismissal. Those who will be privileged to stay at work will have to get down working to keep it, because nothing is certain now. People known for years from TV shows can lose even their reduced salaries if the shows do not register the required viewing. As happened with the charming host of the morning show Elatte, Rania Trask.

Elatte took the place of Good Morning, Greece (Kalimera Ellada) on ANT1 in early summer. Although initially the show was not as successful as expected, the charming blonde managed to improve it and raised its rating subsequently. However, the contract with the ANT 1, which expires at the end of September, will not be renewed ... So, Rania will have to seek a new job.

The charming blonde that became a mother the last year definitely appeals to the public. Her natural behavior and smile are totally discouraging. Her bright and playful style combined with considerable sincerity remains her trade mark. Neither her behaviour, nor her image is showy. She is not a provocative person and her name stays out of conflicts. Her face with a pure, almost child emanation is the most appropriate face for a morning awakening, but neither it, nor its warmness or the fresh style proved to be sufficient for Elatte. Instead, the numbers and … the crisis have their say.

Probably, her one-year absence also has contributed to this. In early summer, the host of “Look ahead” openly stated that she was worried about how she will cope with the new show. She also said that the absence from the screen for so long a time is certainly not irrelevant. However, she strongly opposed the emerging trend when young mothers return to work in television 30 days after they gave birth to a child. Therefore, Rania devoted a whole year to her child that apparently is a great joy for both her and her husband Andreas Fotopoulos.

However, choices have their consequences. Rania needed time to feel the rhythm of the studio. And new shows need a lot more work than the other ones. She enticed people to watch Elatte in her typical way. She was honest about how difficult it is to make a new show and how the team constantly corrects it. But even these sincere appeals to the public did not help the charming host to keep her positions in ANT 1.
