The Greek investigator heading the investigation into the killing of 4-year-old Ani Borisova is expected to summon Nikolay to testify. He is a friend of Stanislav Bakardjiev who is indicated as a child killer and he was also Stanislav’s roommate. The Greek police authorities define as key his role in uncovering the brutal crime.

The witness will be called early next week whereas Stavros Georgiou, defender for Ani’s mother, stated earlier today that he had submitted a request for the Greek investigators to question Nikolay.

A week after the Greek police revealed the horrifying details about the murder of the 4-year-old child, her father Stanislav Bakardjiev argued that the murder itself and the actions to hide the body had involved his friend and roommate too.

In an interview with Mega TV, Nikolay or Niki, as his friends also know him, rejected the claims of Ani’s 27-year-old father that he was involved in her murder. "What I hear on TV that Dimitrina and Stanislav have said is not true," said Nikolay, adding that the police know the truth.

In turn, defender for the father Panagiotis Hrisikakis hinted in statements before the same media that he expected new details on the case. "You will see his position in the coming days. Many of the details of this case have not yet been clarified," he said.

The testimony of Ani’s mother Dimitrina Borisova has also left doubts about the role that Nikolay might have played in Ani’s murder.

The 70-year-old man in whose house the mother and the child had lived was released earlier today, after a two-hour testimony before the investigator. In his first testimony he had lied that 25-year-old Dimitrina had left Ani with a friend of hers to take care of her. The court has banned him from leaving the country.

In statements to the media, the man denied that he knew anything about what had happened to the child. More specifically, he said that on 21 April he and Nikolay had gone together to the father’s house to take a couch there. In his words, Stanislav Bakardjiev was absolutely calm and everything seemed normal at his home.

According to sources, the investigator asked him whether he had seen cool boxes in the father’s lodging and he replied that there had been none in the flat. In addition, he said he was sorry he had lied. "I told you what he had told me about the child. I have known Savvas (Stanislav - author’s note) for 3-4 years. I had not doubts about anything," said the 70-year-old man.

It was expected earlier that the mother of Ani’s 27-year-old father would testify too. However, there is no information as to whether or not she has appeared before the investigators.

To be continued
