While the whole of Greece is anticipating the announcement of the members of the new government, the occupant of the most crucial department has announced his appointment in his personal blog.
Yanis Varoufakis has informed his followers that he is Greece’s new Minister of Finance with the following post:
In his interview for GRReporter in April 2011, the new Minister of Finance had argued that lower taxes would bring more revenue to the state treasury and supported the reduction of corporate tax to 15%. According to Varoufakis’ opinion at that time, the memorandum of financial aid was the wrong path for Greece. At the same time, however, he was clear that, at any rate, the Mediterranean country must remain in the euro zone.
