Five men broke into the office of deputy minister of justice Apostolos Katsifaras with hammers and levers. His secretary and another colleague of theirs became victims of the assault and the entire office was torn apart.
The losses for the local economy caused by an eventual adoption of the drachma as a currency would be much greater than the introduction of more effective restrictions in the state expenditures
