The cabinet wants to send 30,000 civil servants to the labour reserve and thus has triggered new protests in a number of public and local governments and companies. Trade unions in the public and private sector have announced a general strike for 1 December.

The media owes over half a billion Euros to banks and external creditors.

180,000 civil servants will benefit from relieved conditions for private loans taken from the mutual fund of the public sector. The loans granted by the mutual fund are around four billion Euros.

They are adamant from Europe that the sixth tranche will not be paid if Antonis Samaras does not commit in writing to the implementation of the European decisions on the Greek debt.
