Measures for economic development, deep reforms, an effective public sector and equivalent measures to combat tax evasion and limit the wasteful spending of public funds are the proposals of business, instead of the government's package of measures worth 7.9 billion euro.

Two large and peaceful demonstrations shook Greece over the past week. Their participants neither protested nor caused unrest, breaking the long Greek tradition of violent protests.

And the majority of them are willing to pay it, says president of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy ELIAMEP Loukas Tsoukalis.

Government spokesman Gabriel Sakellaridis has stated that "the government will not be able to continue to exist if it does not receive the votes of the government members."
