The optimistic recovery plan of Georgios Papakonstantinou

Following the general talk of the Prime Minister George Papandreou earlier in the day, the Minister of Finance sent to journalists the plan for the recovery of the local economy. Unfortunately, this plan outlined only the main features of the recovery program, many of which are known for months to the public, but little has been done to implement them.

Greece as an inspiration and creative impulse

The end point of Europe called Greece gives birth to artists and inspires them. This is what the Tate Modern gallery’s curator Jessica Morgan has decided to highlight, and today, the fruit of her work is presented in the Museum of Cycladic Art. The exhibition The Last Grand Tour presents the paintings of 17 artists of international acclaim, who lived and worked in Greece for the past 70 years.

Kevin Spacey arrives for the Athens Festival in the role of Richard III

The Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey and the director of American Beauty Sam Mendes will meet on the stage of the ancient Epidaurus Theatre in July. The two Hollywood celebrities will present the Shakespeare’s play Richard III within the Athens Festival, held annually in Athens and on the stage of Epidaurus.


Attempt at beating the Greek Minister of Health

Attacks on politicians and increasingly against members of the government in the form of popular indignation are about to become an epidemic in Greece. Two men were taken to hospital late last night after being injured during a political meeting with the Minister of Health Andreas Loverdos.


Stevie Wonder and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in Athens for the Special Olympics Games

More than two months before the start of the International Special Olympics Summer Games the organisation committee announced it is in full readiness. Over 7000 athletes from 180 countries, their families and 2500 coaches are expected to arrive in Greece on the 24th of June.
