A new poll indicates that the next parliament will involve eight parties, SYRIZA’s former coalition partner Independent Greeks not being among them, and a 1% margin between SYRIZA and New Democracy.

Although the elections date has not yet been determined, the main opposition party New Democracy seems now ready for the battle for votes.

The insistence of former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on holding the elections on the 20th of September, and not on the 27th, aims to avoid the payment of the second reduced pension in a row, as it will naturally affect the votes of pensioners.

The radical left has only a 3.5% lead over New Democracy, its coalition partner Independent Greeks remains outside parliament.
